Voter IDs?
I started voting in 1959 , and back then there was not all the crap going on about voting as there is to day. You never heard of rampant voting frauds , of course there was the story about one of Lyndon Johnson’s elections along with the one about how John Kennedy was assisted by the voters in the city of Chicago. I believe the political parties were more honest than they are today, after the poll tax was struck down things quieted down.
Then along came the 2000 presidential election which brought out all kinds of accusations from all political parties about voter fraud and voter disenfranchisement. Now comes the question of voter ID which has created an uproar similar to the poll tax, there are hundreds of reasons given by people who say they don’t like it, and not one is valid.
The same people who are against voter id are the people who will show id at blockbusters, or to a business when writing a check.
I can’t see any valid reason to not require someone to prove who they are at the poll before voting. The should give you a card with your name and precinct number on it and when you go to vote the date you voted is recorded on it.
