45th Infantry Brigade going to NOLA
I just got off the phone with my son who told me that the 45th Infantry Brigade of the Oklahoma National Guard has been called up and they are on their way to New Orleans. He said they don’t know how long they will be there or even what they would be doing. He was just north of Texarkana and they were spending the night and continuing driving their hummers and other vehicles straight thru to New Orleans tomorrow.
On Friday Aug 22nd 2003 he called and said they were going to Afghanistan where they for a year, he just got back on August 23rd 2004.
The photo on the left was taken in Afghanistan.
His spirits are good and he said for me not to worry… yeah like I won’t.. I am getting to old for this.

The entire 45th Infantry Brigade is going. The News on 6 was there as one of three infantry battalions left Sand Springs Friday morning.
They are leaving their families and regular jobs at home, and in addition to taking their supplies and training, they’re taking with them, the promise that this country will persevere through this tragedy.About 70 trucks left Sand Springs Friday. They expect to do everything from keeping order to rescuing those still trapped in the floodwaters.
