vehicle names
Tammi has Lana and Straigh White Guy dubbed his Sylvia.
I have my 88 Suburban with around a 180,000 miles on her well preserved body but as you know any lady with that much mileage falls in the high maintenance category, especially in the food department (Gas). Thats where I am trying to find a name for her as she is my only vehicle and I am to old to commit to buying a new vehicle as I don’t drive anywhere but to the store and wally world.
I am leaning towards to “Whimpy”, who is “Popeyes” hamburger eating buddy, who can’t pass up eating up a plate of burgers, thats how it is when I go to feed her at the pump as she can’t pass one without wanting to stop. Her capacity is 31 gallons and her output in mpgs is not one to brag about.
Any suggestions on any other names?….

Awright, thanks Eric. That’s exactly why I went for it, plus it conjures up images of Betty Grable, the WWII pinup hottie, but Jerry’s too young to remember her, I think.
I think Alice would fit or maybe Ethyl.
Lemme see; it’s a ‘Burban, It’s thirsty, It has 180k on the ticker (so it has little to lose), and it thrives in an urban environment…
The choice of moniker is obvious: “EM-50, Urban Assault Vehicle”!
… Betty is pretty good… solid, conservative, and going to get where she’s going when she’s good and damned ready…..
I kinda like “Betty.”
I like Miss Piggy too. A good OLD car needs a little attitude. Heck, a good OLD anyone deserves to have a little attitude.
See my vote here.
Lana and I are honored by the mention.
Hmmm, a name. The pressure of a name…..
How ’bout Ms. Piggy? High maintenance, likes to eat, not overly small……

The Confabulator wants his car to have a cool name, so he’s holding a name-that-car contest. My vote? Based on the description of his vehicle, I think it should be named Maxine. [IMG ]Appropriate, don’t you think?
