For the first time in many years I spent thanksgiving alone..
I usually make a trip to Houston to spend it with my family, mom, sis, bro and their spouses and kids…
The reason I didn’t make the trip was due to the fact that my sis and her hubby bought a new house and are in the process of relocating, then my brother finally decided that he needed a new house with bedrooms down stairs so our 88 year old mother could spend some time at their house…
So my sister and sister in law said they were not cooking this year and had other priorities…
my menu consisted of enchiladas , refried beans and a cold beer…
My son called me from FT Bliss and we made arrangements for christmas…

Thanksgiving is kind of a funky holiday for us, too. We were going to go somewhere, then weather turned bad, so we stayed home.
Being at home is no bad deal, though!
… I am sorry that you missed your family…. but hey, enchiladas and beans?…. and beer?…. that is a pretty good surrogate……
