Criminal Charges Could Be Filed in 12-Year-Old Bronx Girl’s Fall Into Niagara River…(US Citizen)
▼ Show Me:
Authorities planned to consult with the Niagara County District Attorney about whether to pursue criminal charges against the man who was chaperoning the group.
“It’s frustrating, because it didn’t have to happen,” said New York State Park Police Lt. Patrick Moriarty Thursday.
She had been walking with about 20 other children who were staying at a Niagara Falls bed and breakfast that caters to Polish-American church and community groups in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.
Authorities said she and a handful of others went off on their own, venturing some 500 feet off a marked trail into treacherous terrain. The group leader was identified by police as Timothy Hedges, 23, the son of the bed and breakfast owner.
“It was not a professional tour guide. It was the young man who named himself a tour guide,” Moriarty said.
Woman detained by airline over video…(US Citizen)
KINGMAN - Marilyn Parver got on her flight to McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas like every other passenger.
Unlike the other passengers on the flight, Parver was led off the plane in handcuffs by law enforcement officials when the plane landed at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas around 10:20 p.m.“I was taking photos from my window seat of clouds, and I was wearing a noise-reduction headset with a TV show playing loudly in my ears,” Parver said. “Even with the headset on, I had been able to hear a very loud child seated a few rows in front of me annoying everyone for approximately two hours.
“Suddenly, I heard loud shouts and removed my headset,” she added. “I realized that the man seated next to the loud child had finally lost it.”
At that point, the child’s mother and the passenger were yelling at each other, Parver added.
“On instinct, I turned my video camera towards the altercation,” Parver said.
Parver said she did not leave her seat or even stand up in it.
“I was not interested in who was involved, I just wanted the words being said,” Parver added, “so I did not adjust the exposure and kept everyone in full shadow.”
In the less than two-minute video, an off-screen man can be heard yelling at a woman to control her child and the mother responding also in anger.
“A JetBlue employee settles the dispute very appropriately,” Parver said. “There was no violence or extreme behavior.”
Approximately 30 minutes after the dispute, Parver said she was approached by the flight crew who were asking passengers questions about the altercation. When Parver told them she had recorded the incident, they requested she accompany them to the back of the plane, Parver said.
There she showed the video to three or four crew members, Parver said.
“After viewing the video, they demanded that I delete it,” Parver said. “I asked, ‘Why?’ The head-stewardess went as far as to tell me that I had broken a law by using an electronic item during the flight.”
At that time, another flight attendant accused Parver of wanting to put it up on YouTube, a video-sharing Web site.

Christina Brown said she wanted her $30 back. The cops said she must be crazy.
That’s how a 79-year-old New Hope woman ended up having her head examined when she asked the SuperTarget in Plymouth to refund the $30 she had paid for shirts that did not fit. When store workers offered her a gift certificate in return for the shirts, but would not give her cash, Christina Brown stood for her rights.
Christina, who had her sales receipt with her, did not want a gift certificate. She wanted her money back. As she leaned against the service counter, her leg aching, a crowd gathered.
Christina said she would stay in the store until she got her money — all day, if she had to. At that point, she says, the store manager told her she was trespassing.
“I’m not trespassing; I’m a customer,” she said. “Give me my money and I’ll go.”
When the manager said he was going to call the cops, Christina beat him to the punch: Taking a cellphone from her purse, she dialed 9-1-1 and called police, asking them to come and help her. Officers responded and later filled out a report, but no charges were filed.
The police report also says she asked to be arrested, but she denies that, saying, “I’d have to be crazy to ask for that.”
“They can put you in jail for this,” she says a cop told her. “Well, I’ve got nothing else to do today,” she replied. “Besides, I may meet a better class of people in jail.”
The store wouldn’t budge. Christina wouldn’t bend. A stretcher was brought in.Christina was strapped to it, and taken by ambulance to North Memorial Medical Center. Her physical and mental health was supposed to be evaluated.
Target signed a trespassing order against her, meaning she will be arrested if she returns to the Plymouth SuperTarget.
That, friends, won’t be a problem.
“I wouldn’t go back to that store if everything in it was free,” she says. “If they’re waiting to see me again, they’re waiting for a cold day in hell.”
Home Depot, Others Required To Make Day Laborer Shelters…(Citizens of the World)
LOS ANGELES — Big-box, home-improvement stores in Los Angeles will have to set aside space for day laborers under an ordinance passed by the City Council on Wednesday.
When the ordinance takes effect — the mayor has to sign it, and most city laws take effect 30 days afterward — it will apply to stores such as The Home Depot that have 100,000 square feet or more, or any structure where 250,000 square feet or more of warehouse floor area is added.
The shelters must be easily accessible and include drinking water, bathrooms, tables, seating and trashcans. The stores may be required to work with Los Angeles police in developing a security plan, according to the unanimous vote by the 15-member lawmaking body.
The National Day Laborer Organizing Network, a nonprofit group started in Northridge in 2001, supports the new requirements.
“It provides for safe and dignified hiring locations where contingent workers can defend their basic rights. (you don’t have basic rights when you sneak into the US) It carefully balances the interests of business, residents, day laborers and their employers,” said the group’s executive director, Pablo Alvarado. (Pablo, you can kiss my WASP ass)
It’s a sad commentary when we enable wetbacks and then treat our citizens as described in the 1st 3 articles.

Gracious, I can just see someone going to a big DIY store for materials to do a project at home and being flooded by men asking to be hired to do the job.
That is just crazy.
