Uncle Bud
I want to mention my mother’s only brother, Henry Clarence Hubbard, who was in the US Navy.
He served in the pacific, stationed on an air craft carrier as a gunner, where he was wounded during an attack. At sometime during his service he was awarded a Bronze Star. When the war was over he was still in a hospital recovering from his wounds at a hospital near San Francisco.
My mom and I were living in Los Angeles at the time and when he was discharged, he and I rode a train back to Oklahoma in April 1946. I still can remember all the comic books he bought me during that trip.
Bud later married and then moved to Redwood City Ca. and lived there until he retired and moved to Ft Smith AR. He had 4 children, 9 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was buried at the National Cemetary in FT Smith AR on March 15th 1994.
I still miss my uncle Bud…
