John was in the fertilized egg business.
He had several hundred young layers (hens), called ‘pullets,’ and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs.
He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced.
This… took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters.

Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing.
Now, he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells.

John’s favorite rooster, old Butch, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed old Butch’s bell hadn’t rung at all!
When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, could run for cover.

To John’s amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn’t ring.
He’d sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one.
John was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the Renfrew County Fair and he became an overnight sensation among the judges.

The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the No Bell Piece Prize but they also awarded him the Pulletsurprise as well.
Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making.
Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most highly coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the populace and screwing them when they weren’t paying attention.
Vote carefully this year and NEXT,
…..the bells are not always audible.

After 12 years this past July due to health reasons I am moving back to Oklahoma. I will be living at Baptist Village of Owasso, a retirement community operated by the Baptist Church. It is a continuing care community offering residential living homes, apartments & duplexes, life occupancy, assisted living, nursing care, and skilled nursing.

The next evolution in active adult retirement living is upon us, and Baptist Village Communities is leading the way again. Bradford Park at Baptist Village of Owasso is the shape of things to come in retirement living.

A gated patio home community with a beautiful pond, fountains and walking trails, Bradford Park provides all the amenities you might be looking for. Enjoy the dining room, library, beauty salon and barber shop, fitness equipment, fishing pond and many other conveniences. Home and yard maintenance are provided. Hassle-free living allows you to travel, visit family, shop and golf, or just relax with friends. A wide variety of social, recreational and cultural activities are available. Bradford Park is the newest addition to Baptist Village of Owasso, the area’s largest continuing care community.

My daughter lives just north of Owasso so that makes it easy for her and the boys to come and see me.

I will be in the building that has the Green Pointer shown near the top center.

I paid into Social Security for 42 years, starting in 1957 and now for the first time the feds say no COLA for two years. That is not a great amount , usually the increase is around an average of $24 per person who is receiving SS.

The big thing is that the costs of the Medicare prescription drug program are going up along with the Medicare Part B coverage. So if there is no COLA for 2 years, and the insurance premiums increase that works out to a decrease in your monthly SS benefit.

The government seems to think that the automakers, fannie mae, fannie mac and other big mismanaged companies are more important than over 30 million seniors.

One thing for sure is that the seniors vote and they don’t forget being mistreated.
